Well, I did it! I finished my manuscript! Now, she’s not quite ready to go out into the big, bad world. But I finally decided that she’s grown up enough to go to pre-school….Or, in other words, my critique group.
I work with a group of fantastically talented ladies. They are a marvelous mix of published, pre-published, agented and pre-agented writers. I am of the latter breed as of yet, but I hope (oh, how I hope) that state won’t last too much longer.
I’ve learned more from them in the past year than anywhere else, and if I do make it up to that second…Agented…bracket, it’s all because of them!
It’s a little scary sending your baby to the virtual day-care of your critique group. Will she get spanked? Will she deserve it? The good news is that I trust my group to mete out the correct amount of discipline, and make certain that when she returns to me, my baby will have learned her manners well.
Hopefully, once her teachers at pre-school have whipped her into shape–it’ll be time for real school… Agent submission… EEK!! What parent doesn’t long for and dread that day?
Ok, time to see if she has all it takes, jacket, sack lunch (meat of the day) and the sugar for the long day.
You do all the work! We just faun over it.
And love it and the new name you chose, by the way. I don’t think I mentioned that before.
